In my studies I have been reminded of a pattern. Faith First.
In Article of Faith 4 it reads , "We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are :first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ..."
In the Young Women theme Faith is the first value.
We always hear "Faith before the miracle."
I think that faith is first because it is our foundation. There are many things we can have faith in. Such as blessings of paying tithing, keeping the Sabbath day Holy, friends keeping promises, The sun rising each day etc. Though the most important thing to have faith in is our Savior Jesus Christ.
If we have faith in Jesus Christ that He truly is our Savior then every other faith or knowledge we need to gain will fall into place.
It is like a building. You do not build the walls, or the roof with out the foundation first.
I love a scripture I memorized on my mission it was Heleman 5:12 we put our names in where it says "My Sons." I ask you as you read this quote to put your name into it and apply this scripture into your life.
12 And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall.
This scripture is Beautiful. We must build our lives upon the Rock of Our Redeemer. It makes me think of the primary song. "The Wise Man Built His House Upon The Rock."
I ask us all to be wise men and women and to build our lives upon our Faith in Jesus Christ who is the Rock of Our Salvation.
Remember if you put FAITH FIRST everything will fall into place.
If you have any experiences where you have put your faith first and have seen blessings and miracles please share by commenting below or on Facebook with #faithfirst and #week1faith.
