So originally each Monday I was going to post about a scripture hero. Though I was really bad about keeping up to date with that, obviously since I have had this blog for a couple weeks now and still no Hero posts and I apologize for that.
Anyway today in church I heard two great talks one was about developing Christlike attributes and the other talk was about discovering our righteous desires and accomplishing goals.
So I combined those two thoughts. My desire and goal is to look to Christ and to be more like Him. I have new plans to help me reach that goal. In Preach My Gospel Chapter 6 is titled "Christlike Attributes"
So my new plans for the blog is for each week I am going to study an attribute and work on developing that attribute. During the week I will post what scriptures I have studied and my progress on attaining the attribute. I would love if you joined me in this 9 week challenge. Add your thoughts and scriptures you have studied in the comments.
So here it goes Week 1 Faith.
( If you would like you can join in on facebook with #week1faith add your progress and scriptures that have helped you)
Preach My Gospel Chapter 6 Link.
I choose this picture because it reminded me that Christ is just waiting and longing for us to allow Him fully in our lives. He is knocking all we need to do is open the door to our hearts and let Him in.

Storms and Miracles at Girls Camp
So this past week was girls camp. I was a cabin leader for the YCLs. It was an amazing experience. While we were there we had two very big lightning storms. We all had to rush inside to stay protected. Everyone was safe even during this great storm.
During girls camp I saw many girls come closer to Christ and I saw their confidence in who they were flourish.
This year the girls camp theme was "There's So Much More To Me." Butterflies was our theme as well. We learned that we are all beautiful daughters of God. Just like a caterpillar goes through trials of the cocoon before it is a beautiful butterfly we must go through trials to help us grow and discover who we are.
I believe the greatest miracle I saw while at girls camp was my sisters friend feel the spirit so strong. My sisters friend has been meeting with the missionaries for a little and she feels many things are true. While at camp she said she truly felt the Love Of Heavenly Father. Another miracle I saw was that we had worthy priesthood holders there to give girls a blessing when hurt or feeling sick. I am so grateful that Heavenly Father has given the earth the authority and power of the priesthood to act on His name.
I truly felt the Love of God while at girls camp. It was interesting to me how I learned so much from these young women who are so close to the Spirit and who have triumphed over many things.
I testify that we are Children of God who knows us and loves us perfectly. I testify that He sent His Son to atone for our sins.
I am grateful for the wonderful program of girls camp that helps young women get away from the world for a few days and truly learn the importance of the gospel and discover who they are.

My Sisters Experience
This Year my sisters youth for Youth Conference did Quest, aka A Book Of Mormon reenactment. She said the Book Of Mormon came to life. Each girl and boy was put into a tribe. They also dressed like Nephites and Lamanites (with shorts and shirts underneath to be modest)
My sister said this was an amazing experience. She said the battles were fun and the Likenings (Leaders and other youth members putting on a reenactment of a certain scriptures) were inspiring.
She said her favorite part was having the reenactment of when Christ visits the Americas. She said she felt the spirit strong.
She also told me there were miracles.
The forecast for that week was that it would pour rain. Many families were praying that the youth would be safe if there was a bad storm. My sister said the strangest thing happened. She said the storm went around them. It was on all sides but not in their camp. Prayers are truly answered. She did say 2 trees were struck by lightning but they were far away from camp. How wonderful our Heavenly Father is to hear our prayers and protect our loved ones if it is His will.
Preparing For Girls Camp
Next week is Girls Camp. I will be a 1st Year Cabin Leader and the dance teacher. So these past weeks I have been preparing for that So I have not searched up a Hero. I will begin my weekly hero posts after girls camp. I will have many posts about Girls camp and the spiritual experience I have there.

Writing a Talk During The Storm.
I am joining my sister as she does her farewell talk. She will be leaving Wednesday June 25, 2014 to serve Spanish Speaking in the Nampa Idaho Mission.
While I was working on my talk there was a nice thunder storm. It reminded me of the power of God and how the world is made cleaner with each rain fall.
Heavenly Father loves us so much and has truly given us a beautiful world to live in.

Finding "The Son" In The Storm
Lightning flashes across the sky, thunder rattles the roof and rain drops splash the window, all part of a summer thunder storm. When I was younger ,like most children, I was terrified of these loud Florida storms. Though now I enjoy them. I like watching the lightning light up the sky, and I feel a rush when I hear loud thunder and I even enjoy standing out in the rain and letting the drops splash my face. My favorite part of storms is watching the sun burst from the clouds. I also like searching for Rainbows.
In life we have trials that are like these big storms they can be scary and we might feel like the world has gone dark. Though if we have an eternal perspective we can see "The Son" during lives storms. Our Heavenly Father loves us and wants us to become the best we can be. He challenges us with different trials to help us grow and learn. Always remember God gives His hardest trials to his strongest warriors.
If we look in the scriptures we can see many of these spiritual warriors who went through heart ache and life changing trials that made them the great people we know. Just thinking of these amazing men and women makes my heart lift. Names that come to my mind are Joseph in egypt, Esther, Moses, Ruth, Sariah, Job, Alma the Younger, Captain Moroni, Mormon, The Apostles in Jerusalem and The Americas. They all had trials worse than mine and they looked to God to support them. They greatest example of looking to Heavenly Father during a hard trial is Jesus Christ our Savior. He knows your pains exactly because He experienced them.
Whenever days are hard I remember that my Savior knows my pains He loves me and will always give me support. The scriptures give me strength as well. Just remember to tell your mind "Peace Be Still" When life seems stormy look for "The Son"
