Writing a Talk During The Storm.

This week I do not have a post about a Scripture Hero. The reason being that I needed to prepare my talk. I am doing a talk on Covenants of Sacrifice.

I am joining my sister as she does her farewell talk. She will be leaving Wednesday June 25, 2014 to serve Spanish Speaking in the Nampa Idaho Mission.

While I was working on my talk there was a nice thunder storm. It reminded me of the power of God and how the world is made cleaner with each rain fall.

Heavenly Father loves us so much and has truly given us a beautiful world to live in.

A few of my favorite Heroes

I Have many heroes that I have found in the Book Of Mormon and The Bible
Can you name these Heroes?

Finding "The Son" In The Storm

Lightning flashes across the sky, thunder rattles the roof and rain drops splash the window, all part of a summer thunder storm. When I was younger ,like most children, I was terrified of these loud Florida storms. Though now I enjoy them. I like watching the lightning light up the sky, and I feel a rush when I hear loud thunder and I even enjoy standing out in the rain and letting the drops splash my face. My favorite part of storms is watching the sun burst from the clouds. I also like searching for Rainbows.

In life we have trials that are like these big storms they can be scary and we might feel like the world has gone dark. Though if we have an eternal perspective we can see "The Son" during lives storms. Our Heavenly Father loves us and wants us to become the best we can be. He challenges us with different trials to help us grow and learn. Always remember God gives His hardest trials to his strongest warriors.

If we look in the scriptures we can see many of these spiritual warriors who went through heart ache and life changing trials that made them the great people we know. Just thinking of these amazing men and women makes my heart lift. Names that come to my mind are Joseph in egypt, Esther, Moses, Ruth, Sariah, Job, Alma the Younger, Captain Moroni, Mormon, The Apostles in Jerusalem and The Americas. They all had trials worse than mine and they looked to God to support them. They greatest example of looking to Heavenly Father during a hard trial is Jesus Christ our Savior. He knows your pains exactly because He experienced them.

Whenever days are hard I remember that my Savior knows my pains He loves me and will always give me support. The scriptures give me strength as well. Just remember to tell your mind "Peace Be Still"  When life seems stormy look for "The Son"
